Our clients in Sidlesham, West Sussex, wanted to make more of the storage in two bedrooms with sloping ceilings. They had a different look in mind for each room: a modern main bedroom with a softly lit feature behind the bed, and a guest bedroom where the fitted furniture would blend into the walls.
We used Daval furniture in Cashmere throughout, choosing a different door style for each room. Sizing the units to suit the slopes meant we could make better use of the available space in both bedrooms.
Making room for storage under sloping ceilings
The ceiling slopes shaped the design from the start. We specified bespoke sized units to fit the available height, making use of space that would have been difficult to fill with standard freestanding furniture.
Inside the wardrobes, drawers give smaller items a place of their own while keeping the fronts uncluttered.
A modern main bedroom with Daval Soho furniture
In the main bedroom, Daval Soho doors in Cashmere have a fine frame effect and softly rounded edges. Matching Cashmere panels keep the finish consistent, while Rough Cut Oak cabinetry, a worktop and a matching upstand bring warmth and texture to the scheme.
Backlighting behind the bed gives the room a soft glow and draws the eye to the bed as the focal point.
Discreet fitted storage with Daval Roma furniture
In the guest bedroom, we used Daval Roma slab doors in Cashmere, paired with matching panels and Rough Cut Oak cabinetry. The doors have softly rounded edges and open with a push, so there are no visible handles.
That detail helps the fitted furniture blend into the room as the clients wanted. The shared Cashmere and oak palette connects the two bedrooms, while the simpler door style gives the guest room its own quieter look.
